WISEACRE are a fiercely independant alternative rock band from the sleeping giant that is Birmingham. Fronted by Rich 'Trig' Tregortha on guitar + vocals and younger brother Matt Tregortha on 2nd Guitar + backing vocals. The brothers are joined by Dave Walters on Drums and Garrett Gotshlack on Bass.
Formed in late 2008 the band rapidly established them on the local music scene as a must see live act. Displaying catchy, edgy tracks that stuck a chord with audiences and fellow musicians alike.
With a few chaotic shows under their belts and a handful of rough demos produced, they proudly gained airplay on BBC WM Introducing. 2009/2010 has seen the band grow with enthusiasm and quirkiness; performing in and around the West Midlands as well as top venues around the country. A loyal fan base has proved the bands much deserved success.
After such relentless gigging WISEACRE decided to hit the Studio in October 2009 to record. What followed was the debut release of their self-financed United States of Great Britain EP. Recorded and mixed at Univibe Studios in Birmingham, the EP features 5 tracks and only 100 copies were ever released in DIY CD format.
United states of great britain E.p Promo Review
"Think you could have a winner on your hands here. It's got that "I've heard this before but can't quite place it" quality. For me the CD got better as it went on and the title track is a cracker. From what I've heard I would suggest that where you position the track 'United States Of Great Britain' on the album is critical." - chop - chopmusic.co.uk
