"Giving women an inexpensive red-carpet look" is the goal of Sri Lankan fashion designer Ruchira Karunaratne. Ruchira, who started designing clothes as early as 12 years old, now manages her own "Rebel" brand, which has become hugely popular with young people in Sri Lanka.
"There is no point to have a brand name if you haven't registered it as a trademark. Because that is the core of your identity, people recognize your clothing from your trademark", says Ruchira.
