Thank you.. Vacation was wonderful. We went out to Cape Cod and enjoyed a little bit of the wine festival. Brought back some Truro Vineyards wine which they still refuse to sell outside of Massachusetts. It's great stuff.. The loose, sandy soil and their location (nothern tip of the Cape, almost 50 miles out to sea) make it a great wine location.

Two vineyards so close and yet producing wines so remarkably different. That's what makes wine so fascinating. -- Rex Pickett, author of "Sideways"

Good to know you enjoyed the Coppola Merlot. Where were you? A restaurant? Remember, wine is not about oak and chemicals. It is about memories and emotions. These are rhetorical questions. Cheers!

The Francis Ford Coppola Diamond Series 2006 Merlot is even better than I had expected. You made a great recommendation. The nose is uplifting and it just sticks to the glass. I can't believe this is an inexpensive wine. Will try the Kendall Jackson soon

Very cool.. thank you for the advice. Checked out the Kendall Jackson website. A few of their reserves are surprisingly reasonable (30-40 range) and they have some excellent vintages listed. I'll give them a shot. Going to look into the Coppola wine as well. I didn't realize he's a vinter.

Greetings PJDooWop. In the moderate price range, Francis Ford Coppola Diamond Series Merlot is bottled poetry. For cabs, anything produced by Kendall-Jackson Vineyards in Napa/Sonoma is worth the money. Visit their site at www.kj.com to learn more. Cheers!

The last Merlot I drank was Chappellet 2005 and it was yesterday as a matter of fact. I've had more popular and expensive Merlots but this one keeps me coming back. It's superb and every bottle is different. By the way, you have some incredible music on your page.

I've been drinking wine for about ten years, although I only started to really appreciate wine about a year ago. I've been drinking a lot of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. I'd like to become well acquainted with those worlds before I start exploring other varietals. I'm intrigued by Bordeaux and I think that'll be my next trip into wine land.

Great. What was the last Merlot you drank and where?
