Any Thoughts? With William Wogan is a British radio comedy. The show features fictional character William Wogan, an easily irritated host of a moderately successful live radio phone in show who is driven by a sycophantic desire to meet the approval of his educated middle class listeners, but whose show is consistently plagued by misunderstandings, ambiguities and a constant stream of irritating, confusing and sometimes aggressive callers.

About William Wogan:

William Wogans career in radio began at the University of Aberdeen, where he created and presented Wogans Hour. Beginning with a fortnightly early morning show, by the end of his three-year degree Wogans Hour had become so popular that Wogan found himself presenting two-hour long editions, twelve times a week. The show was so integral to the university radios schedule that when Wogan graduated the station collapsed due to lack of listeners, the culmination of a decline that had begun years earlier.

Wogan then turned his attention to politics, and for three years he was an active intern at one of Britains leading Kent-based Conservative thinktanks. His interest in presenting continued, however, and soon Wogan decided to return to the world of audio.

After making a name for himself with his topical online podcasts, in 2005 Wogans big break came, when he was given his own national phone-in show. Unfortunately, Words With Wogan was cancelled after two episodes, due to un-abating caller confusion over the identity of the presenter.

When Terry Wogan announced his retirement in September 2009, however, William Wogan was given another chance, and on 1 January 2010 Any Thoughts? With William Wogan hit the airwaves, instantly becoming a moderate commercial success.
