William Brovelli. Conceptual artist (NYC) "Timeline Video" Documentation,(2008- )

This is an ongoing video series in which the artist is filmed real time during the art making process. Although not in sight of the viewer, material is being produced.
The videos are an extension of the 'TIMELINE' project which entails a focus on the deterministic element of art making by producing hundreds of thousands of hand drawn figures that will serve as reference material for the neurological mapping of the brain's response to repetition within a narrowed format.
This neurological mapping will span a lifetime, with all other urges towards conventional art making to be suspended to preserve the integrity of the project.

There are 80,000 figures set aside for this project. Figures are produced daily and conditions surrounding the production are documented, such as time: stop/start(am/pm) location (subway), date ect.

	kerrywessell (8 months ago) Well, I never thought I'd be saying this, particularly through youtube, but: isn't boredom interesting? An endurance test for the viewer, a sort of flip of, for example, a Chris Burden endurance test. In any event, I watched, I laughed at your videos and then I was bored. 	mmartwork (8 months ago) hi William, thanks for the invitation. Interesting work with a remarkable underlying ethical concern. In some of my own video work I document itineraries on natural expanses seen as some form of text. Nature and land are my preferred platforms for study: immersing myself in such "natural" contexts and deciphering the data I collect, feels very much like producing translations of a cryptic work. There is some sort of Rennaissance spirit in this I guess. best regards manos
