About Me:

Originally from Houston, TX Reese Williams III grew up in Missouri City, a town about 18 miles southwest of that city. But in 1999 he relocated to Romulus, Michigan. In 2008, he graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor degree in criminal justice. He also enjoyed a brief stint at Henry Ford Community College. While attending Henry Ford Community College, he played drums in the Studio 110 Jazz Band, Blue Fusion and Midnight Blue (two vocal jazz ensembles), Vanguard Voices (choir) and Wind Ensemble. In 2010, he was chosen in the house band for HFCC Theatre Department production of "The Who's Tommy" directed by Gerry Dzublinski. Shortly thereafter he caught the attention of Rick Goward of the HFCC Big Band and started gigging with them locally. While at Henry Ford Community College, Reese received the great opportunity to travel internationally--performing in Toronto, Canada. In his spare time he enjoys working out, spending time with family, and traveling. He currently resides in Texas.

	clicks59 (1 month ago) Will, Thanks for info on drum tuning. I used to have clear Ambassador heads on top. There were no reso's on my kit. I bought hoops and put the clears on the bottom and put single ply Diplomats on the top. I didn't know a tool existed to set head tension. Kind of like a torque wrench? I used the tone method to tune it. I got them pretty even. I'm still working on the kick. It has a stripped lug and one missing with no reso head. It sounds pretty sorry. That's next to fix. The real test will be listening to a recording of the kit. BTW, I saw Butch Miles with count Basie back in 1977. He was like a machine! I went to a camp here last summer in Cali and got to play bass for Eddie Marshall who passed away this last fall. What a cool guy he was. Thanks for the info. Keep up the good work! Jesse
