"What is important to me is that the music of Cat Stevens/Yusuf is beautiful and inspiring. Regardless of whatever choices the musician makes in life, his music remains as it was the day that it was created. To me, the music of Cat Stevens will always be about the timeless themes and the moving poetry that each song expresses, and it's also about one man's spiritual journey.

About Me:
With the hit single Wild World entering the US charts in 1971, Cat Stevens flew to America to visit KCET Studios in Los Angeles.
He'd examined cynicism and fear long ago in "Wild World," which he sang with opening and closing sections in Zulu from a latter-day re-recording of his early hit, then said, "I don't believe in that philosophy any more." He then offered up the new album's title track, about a troubadour (representing all spiritual seekers) who ultimately finds his way.
The Footsteps in the Light (2006) version of "Wild World (Bana,Bana)" is a nasheed - percussion only - and I do love this version.
A personal reaction to this:

~An Other Cup (2006)~
With the aim of inspiring bridge-building and understanding across cultures and faiths, the album touched the hearts of many old as well as new fans and attained Gold and Platinum status across Europe. As Yusuf puts it, "Much has changed, but today I am in a unique position as a looking glass through which Muslims can see the West and the West can see Islam. It is important for me to be able to help bridge the cultural gaps others are sometimes frightened to cross."
