Practicing and teaching bushcraft,primitive skills, survival skills, and using that as a ministry. Wild about Christ Ministries connects men to Christ through their love of the outdoors and all things wild. Within the chest of every man beats a heart that longs for wild places and adventure. Many men don't think these attitudes have a place in modern Christianity, and would rather skip church than "sell out". I felt the same way until I had a life changing salvation experience while deer hunting in the hills of southern Ohio. I felt led to share the gospel through speaking engagements such as wild game dinners, men's prayer breakfasts, and church camps. Through these event men started asking me if I would take them out in the woods and teach them some survival skills. As a result of these requests I have started doing some wilderness survival retreats where I take small groups of men out overnight and teach basic survival skills. More importantly, we discuss the skills that we need as men, to survive spiritually in this crazy old world we live in. In the words of Jim Shockey " The day will come when the last place on earth you will want to be is where you are standing at that very moment". When that day comes, we will not rise to the occasion like knights in shinning armor, we will fall to a level that is a couple of notches below our level of training and preparation. That being said, my goal is to prepare myself and other men to survive spiritually and physically when that day comes.
