I was lucky enough to actually meet Mr. Farkas many years ago; my dad was a violist in an orchestra, and we encountered Farkas in a hallway by chance...he was a gentleman...not to mention an absolutely outstanding horn player.

I've posted about Heifetz before, but besides his remarkable technique, it is his absolutely unique sound and nose for interpretation that is unique. I've listened to hundreds of good fiddlers, but none have what he had. Hassid was very interesting, but of course life stopped that career. Perhaps...
