Thank you, from another former republican. Even when I was a republican I enjoyed reading Media Matters from time to time, because it helped me to think through some of what was being put forward as party gospel as the party moved farther and farther to the right. Eventually the party went over the cliff, and simply by remaining true to my ideals I found myself being called a "liberal" by people who were new to the party and had little to no understanding of policy, much less the real world.

I couldn't vote in the primary. My 18th birthday was in October. One month before the general election. I lived in the right wing universe for about two years after. I'm very open minded. The ground zero mosque controversy was my breaking point. I'll be posting more details about what else happened in future videos. . Believe me as of now its much easier to for someone to switch sids than it was for me. I'll be making a video about that too about why sometimes Liberals become conservatives.Thanks for the comment

Sorry to piss in your corn flakes, but if you're only 21, then that means you probably weren't old enough to vote in the last election. If you were, then it was your first time voting. That doesn't give you much time to be a republican if you ever were. I was a democrat all my life until I grew up. Don't let peer pressure influence what you know is best for the country.

I'll be enjoying taxes at its lowest levels in 45 years. yeah lower under Obama. 247 billion worth of it tax cuts coming from the stimulas. The bill Romney was for before he was against. Do you want to go back to the Reagan years when taxes were highest?

@jamaljamal85 When was the GOP home to the best and brightest? Sure they had their bright moments within their founding during the Nineteenth Century, though were still not altogether great. Certainly, however, not within our lifetimes, and certainly not those of the Neo-Conservative schism who (after having been instrumental through the Reagan Administration, along with the misappropriation and degradation of social order that it provided, once developed) have systematically destroyed any resemblance to true republicanism as optioned by Thomas Jefferson.

At one time, the GOP was home to the best and brightest. Now it is home to Sarah Palin.
