Every day, you are branded by the media as a lost generation. Dumbed-down, game-numbed, hoodie-wearing, knife-wielding yoof, good for nothing but sensational headlines. Does it make you want to stand up, speak out, show the world who you really are?
In the summer of 2008, we sent 12 packages to 12 vloggers, asking them to do just that and inspire their viewers to do the same. The result is this film.
Over half a million young people responded. Here are some of their views ... soundbites that explode the media myth of the youth of today. They show that you are caring, thinking and bold. The very qualities shared by the young RNLI crews who inspired us to start this debate. We hope that after you've watched the film, you'll be moved to voice what you think in a text message or a video of your own.

The older generation seem to forget that youths are a product of their creation, we trip over obstacles they put in our way. The media, as always, only concentrate on the negative, I have friends who work for charity, two of them are saving to go and help street children in south Africa, but this contribution is all but forgotten when the media report on knife, and gun crime, assault, gangs and other crimes.
Thankyou for standing up for us.
I live in Poole. Last saturday I almost rode into someone coming out of the RNLI Lifeboat Museum. Sorry.
