About this user

I was an over the road truck driver for 18 years. Three of those years was a civilian contractor in Iraq. I wrote a book called "Cindy in Iraq: A Civilian's Year in the War Zone" which chronicles my time there.

In November 2008 I shattered both of my wrists and ended my truck driving career. In January 2010 I started going to college at The University on Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. My focus is radio, photojournalism and feature writing. I started by doing short commentary spots on WUSM my first semester.

With the start of the fall 2010 term, I began hosting the noon show, "Southern Miss Today." It is a news/entertainment show about the happenings around the USM campus and Hattiesburg , MS area. We also bring in artist for interviews that are playing in the local area.

I also took a radio production class that required me to DJ a 2 hour show. From that assignment "Gear Jammin Radio" was born, of which I produce and host. It features trucking music of all genre, interviews from the "Face Behind the Windshield" and trucking music makers, commentary about the personal side of trucking today and a bit of industry news. As many know, truckers and bikers go hand in hand. From time to time I will also play music written and recorded by and for bikers as well as have interviews with them. The show airs every Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.
