Arrived in DC in 1964 and was playing in bands on the 14th St strip in 65 - age 18, and crazy as a shithouse rat. I got an early jump start with Paramount Artists Agency and was put with older established bands like Willie & the Handjives and The Chartbusters from the git go. Recorded records for The British Walkers and Chartbusters and some others including Jimmy "Handyman" Jones. Recorded some stuff with Roy Buchanan for Paramount Artists.

Other bands and musicians I worked with include:

Danny Gatton (various bands over the years and recording), Demetri Callas (several groups over the years), Roy Buchanan (Snakestrechers & recording only), Joe Stanley, Wild Honey (Bayou era), "Rooth" (kings of the last days of 14th St - 1970). Paul Hawkins (congas) of Dizzy Gillespie's band played with "Rooth" whenever he was in town., Three Easy Pieces, The Newports, The Shades, The Four Reasons (AKA -The Reasons Why) and a couple gigs with Laurence & The Arabians at the end of my stay in DC in 1988.

Tractor was the "almost made it - still living in DC - band". All the rest had to leave to make a mark. We had a record offer from Felix Pappalardi, who produced "Disraeli Gears" for The Cream, as well as many many more including his own group Mountain. The band, except for me, would not accept the offer, as he didn't do "front money". I promptly quit!

Spent five years in Miami and put together a trio called Foxy, I was voted down on the name. I wanted to call us "The Miami Heat" - long before the sports team in 1973 or 74. I returned to DC in 75 or 76 and they went on to get a hit record later.

Although I spend more time on web projects, I still play regularly and am planning a couple of recording projects with producer Lance Quinn - also from DC.
