Obscene Planet is the culmination of the many personalities of producer/recording engineer Koncyse/Stayhigh of North Carolina. His music has been described as "a return to the glory days of hip hop" and has been compared to pioneers such as J Dilla, RZA, Blockhead, 9th Wonder, Kanye West and Jake One to name a few. His equipment used includes acoustic and electric guitars and basses, but the magic happens through FL Studio linked up to the yamaha-psr530. Vocal equipment consists of Adobe Audition recording an MXL960 run through an M-Audio Omnistudio.

From his humble beginnings writing battle verses on www.globalcypher.com, Stayhigh was able to grab attention with his quick wit and deep, often twisted, sense of humor. It wasn't until 5 years later that he actually *listened* to the music being produced. It was a classic "anything you can do, I can do better" moment and history was changed forever.

The stars were truly aligned for this moment. Less than two months after his first few tracks where published online, another Global Cypher artist from North Carolina, Averis, was beginning his recording career. A mutual professional respect led to a continued working relationship which eventually led to Stay purchasing the equipment needed to record vocal talent. This was the spark needed to start the birthing process that began incubating years before.

It was during this time that Stay's music grabbed the ear of another Global Cypher artist, Datura Records' MilkDrop. Fresh off of his debut LP "Falling Back To Earth", MilkDrop had his attention focused on his next project. Known for his soulful rhymes, he immediately recognized a kindred spirit in Stayhigh's production style. Slated for release later this year, his follow up will include a "hemisphere" of Obscene Planet.
