hey check out my "washing machine" group (im'e the owner)
previous washers: all washer dryer's
hotpoint aquarius washer dryer 9920 (1988-1999): this washer-dryer was my parents first automatic washer, after haveing a hotpoint twin tub. this had 8 wash programms. a 4.1kg load capicity and a 800rpm fast spin and 500rpm slow spin. it was that washer dryer that got me more intrested in washing machines. especialy when the pump started packing up and you got spin washes& rinses.
hotpoint aquarius wd61 washer - dryer (mid 1999 - november 2002): a 1100rpm spin/ 900rpm slow spin washer dryer. had a 4.5KG load with a 2.3Kg drying load. with economy, and super rinse options. this had a very bad F grade energy efficancy rateing. hotpoint then decided along with thier new first edition range in 2001. to bring out thier new washer-dryer the WD63.
this Washer-Dryer failed and was sent to the skip after all the elctrics had smoulded and was a fire risk.
hotpoint aquarius extra washer-dryer WD64(november 2002 - december 4th 2006): this had a 1200rpm spin (which was brilliant) or 900rpm slow spin. had a 5KG load, and 2.5KG load. options: economy, super rinse, rinse hold and time saver. same set of programms as the WD61. except the cottons 60'c programm was now double the time at 3hours long.
it also had variable spin.
this now had an energy efficency grade of C.
this machine went to the tip, after it started vibrateing alot on the spin, makeing it sound like it was about to explode, and im'e not jokeing - loud as a jet. infact this is the same problem as buxtedlad has with his WD62. the condesor box ontop of the outer drum had lost all it's bolts. we fixed it and lasted another 2 mounths, they came loose again, and now had ripped apart from the turbine, air tunnel. and had now snapped 2 of the 4 blades of the turbine had broke. this did 1250 loads of washing and drying a year.
hotpoint ultima wt960(P) (19th december2006- 15th july 2009): this was one of the most interesting machines, but carried a 20minuit final spin was just too long. this had a 7kg washing capacity with wash enhance enabled, 1600fast spin/ 800rpm slow spin. 19programms includeing it's platinum ditribution wool wash, fast wash 60, fast wash 30 which was over 40mins long.
10options includeing variable spin & temp, 24 hour time delay, and most intresting the variable soil level setting availiable on the cottons 40,60,95 normal programms and acylics. as well as prewash, mini load, acclaimed variable rinse (just extra rinse), reduce creases, rinse hold, child lock, wash enhance, and faviorite programm
A wash
A energy (originally A+)
A spin
i finaly decided to get rid of it after 2 and a half years due to the very noisy motor bearings and the fact the final spins were really long.
hotpoint aquarius vtd00(P) tumble dryer (8th january 2007- 21st november 2009): this was a basic 6kg vented tumble dryer, with a 120min timer (160min hidden time) 64notch dial with 12min cooldown. this generation of hotpoint dryers were notorius for haveing the worst bearing shaft. most dide of this after 18months, this one was nearly 3 years old, and died of a case, of well im'e not compleatly sure, but i think it was the bearing shaft. it made a thumping and loud scrapeing noise, and the problem, drum moved around foreward and back, and had actually slanted back, the thumping and scrapeing was from the drum hitting the motor. the dryer itself. is loud compared to most. and like all hotpoints made funny wierd squeeking and slight scrapeing noises now and again for no reason. and after 18months, the door handle broke off. but overall not a bad dryer. and better than what i thought it was.
current washing machine: samsung wf8804rpa diamond drum air refresh (july 15th 2009 - now)
- 1999 hoover quatro powerjet ae140: (aquaired october 2010): i have been given the machine to fix and i will keep for myself, but at the minuit the front pannal will not budge. the fault are nosiey drum bearings
current tumble dryer: hotpoint aquarius+ tvf760(A) (23rd of november 2009 - now)
