From the pp to f, this is a lyrical piece wonderfully interpreted by this master pianist! He has the architectural vision, varied dynamics and the accents that sound so right for the ear. He is both technical and musical. His mentor Anton Rubinstein, I believe, had access to Chopin.

The piano roll could not capture adequately the genius of Busoni's playing. It must have been mesmerizing to hear him play live in those golden days of classical music... Thank you for preserving the historical documents!

It bears resemblances to Rachmaninov's Preludes, Scriabin, Prokofiev, Bartok sonatas. Do you agree? It seems to hint at atonality?
