the civil war was not mainly about slavery. the north did not care about slaves. it was a good excuse to cover up what it was really about. tarifs and state rights. only 6% of southerners owned slaves while their were hundreds of thousands free black in the south. the south did not make them fight. those blacks who had homes and familys were also taxed by the tariffs they fought with the confederacy to not pay the tarifs! we cannot stand as a nation divieded thats what its always been. people write and say white sotherners are racist they teach to all people so we cannot stand as one.learn the truth people!!
