Donnie Sutherland is best remembered as the host and journalist on Australian music programs SOUNDS and AFTER DARK.

In his teens he was a profession horse-racing jokey. In his 20's a professional singer and radio announcer. But it was in 1974 that he gotten his notoriety as the host of a Saturday morning music program titled SOUNDS - the first television show in the world to solidly play promo-videos only. Later, Donnie also became host of the Saturday night music program titled AFTER DARK.

Since the axing of SOUNDS in 1987, Donnie has been busy in the field of radio. He is also very successful in the field of grey-hound racing.
