Re the dance line up,i posted this last year, 'One of the blond girls I believe is Michele Johnston,(on right behind drummer)..she is a dancer, and dance choreographer,LA based she does dance routines for movies and has appeared in a few herself, top dancer in her own right, check her out on Wiki,...
One of the blond girls I believe is Michele Johnston,(on right behind drummer)..she is a dancer, and dance choreographer...L.A. based she does dance routines for movies now and has appeared in a few herself...top dancer in her own right...check her out on Wiki..but dont confuse her for an actress...
I agree, the chord opening has been lifted from Mellissa'...which predated this cut by 4 years...more base and fuller sound from Labi....saw him do a little acoustic set some years ago....good performer live.
I thought the ‘piano clip ‘ of Lollipop was taken on the Andy Williams show,. in NYC 1958… and not on tour in Germany, also I thought Margie Needham who you appear to say is on the Piano clip, was an earlier member of the Chordettes ???
Not sure it was Overton on the other clip...looks at some pics of her...it doesnt look like her....which on is Overton in this clip?...the 'person' on the right of the piano clip doesnt appear to be in this clip...Evans and Buschman are certainly on this one...
Nancy Overton didnt join the group unitl a little later....The Chordettes, from left to right, Lynn Evans Jinny Osborn, Carol Buschmann, and Janet Ertel who was Archie Ertels wife, who produced the record. She was also Phil Everley's Mother in law
Archie Ertel produced this song, he was married to Janet, the singer on the right, whose daughter married Phil Everly, they all were signed to Cadence records owned by Archie...song was from 1958/59 not 54. Archie sold the record label to Andy Williams also in the clip doing the poppin'
