Well Darryl, the US team was composed of college players while the Soviet team had "amateurs" that did nothing but play hockey and train in state of the art facilities. Throw in the fact that the US and Soviet Union were at the height of the Cold War and this was an amazing and symbolic victory.

The Pixies are NOT a good live band, but they did write some great tracks...this is one of them.
