Agreement Type: Executive Agreement (This means the treaty requires NO CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL WHATSOEVER. It bypasses democracy.

Australia, Canada, European Union (EU), Japan, Korea, Morocco, Mexico, New Zealand, Jordan, Singapore, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United States (U.S.A.)

Purpose: This treaty is supposed to combat piracy that uses the internet

Problems with this treaty...

This treaty is probably the biggest invasion of privacy ever created. If it passes it could mean the complete end of online privacy.

If this treaty passes. Internet Service providers (ISP) will be able to...

- Watch what you download, and tattle on you if you download a music track/ any data / rapidshares / torrents etc.

- Tattle on you, when you do anything which goes against "Governments policy".

- Document and store EVERYTHING you do online. nothing will ever be private again

Other clauses in the treaty will also allow...

- Random searches of MP3 Players (including iPods), Laptops, and Cell Phones being carried commercially (PERSONAL DEVICES ARE SAFE) for content that the government believes is pirated

-Your devices can be confiscated and/or destroyed if officials believe pirated content exists on the device.
