The London are a Pittsburgh Pennsylvania based band, whose sound is an amalgamation of infectious melodies, confident heartfelt vocals, and layered guitars, all of which articulate the band's ability to deliver strong, hook-laden pop songs.Formed in 2008 and honing their songwriting craft with dedication and fortitude, The London's first shows in clubs throughout the Northeast did not disappoint, and the band garnered an impressive following with fans trading reviews and live mp3s of the band's shows online. At year's end The London had a loyal fan base, consistent support from local radio, and offers from larger regional promoters to support national touring bands.
Capitalizing on the success and strength of their tenacious live performances, the band headed into the studio to record songs for their debut E.P. titled "Young and In Love". Majestic electric and acoustic guitars, a punctual rhythm section, and poignant well placed piano, keyboards, and harmonica, all combine effortlessly to provide the band with a unique soundtrack to tell their story. Soaring on top of this fervent musical foundation are Dusty Ray's vocals which, whether at full throttle or at a determined whisper, resonate with passion and melodic sincerity.
The six song "Young and In Love", which was produced by Stephen Stewart Short and released in February of 2009, showcases lyrical themes such as the struggle to find one's own identity as well as the chaos and turmoil that envelops life for everyone in their late teens and early twenties. The band recently secured management from Los Angeles based Ping Pong Music who work with artists such as Augustana (Epic Records), This World Fair (Rethink Records), and Camera Can't Lie (Atlantic Records).
The London are currently touring colleges and clubs in the Northeast and they begin recording their debut album in summer of 2009.
