Brisbanes young upstarts, LAST DINOSAURS, produce catchy pop tunes with a unique blend of tropical beats and ambient guitar riffs. Comprised of teenage brothers Sean and Lachlan Caskey, Dan Koyama and Sam Gethin-Jones, the group has been playing together since late 2007.
Having shared the stage with the likes of Yves Klein Blue, Lost Valentinos, Bluejuice, international indie due Matt & Kim and Canadian starlets Pony-up, the quartet has gained a slew of fans across the East Coast. An upcoming national support slot for Red Riders and a co-headline East Coast tour with Hot Little Hands will only add to the bands impressive CV. With their single Honolulu proving to be a Triple J Unearthed favourite, this is only the beginning for a band that is far from prehistoric.
LAST DINOSAURS have recently returned from a run of shows in Japan that came about via an invitation from young Japanese bands who had heard their MySpace tunes and loved it so much they had to see them live! With three of the band members having Japanese heritage, the band saw the trip as an undeniable opportunity to connect with the country they hold dear.
Australia, of course, is still very much planted at the forefront of their minds - and with a their debut EP 'Back From The Dead' just out and an album on the horizon, LAST DINOSAURS are a band to watch!
