i used to be enthusiastic about blueholes "TERA" - ... but no open pvp smells like regulation and i hate regulation.
and gathering materials, grinding solo or in groups like it was 1999, fighting for honor in arenas smells like conventional mmo meshup and i hate conventional mmo meshups.
appearent lower role of a proper political system smells like stupid la-la-la no drama wonderland and i dislike that all the same. wow is NOT the future.
in the end there might again rest hope on ncsoft to release something truely innovative again. other alternatives seem numerous at first glance yet also numerous in failing. even if the outside of an mmo might appear new and shiny there always comes the same old rotten gameplay trash mixture inside.
talking about a pc game crysis... as technology seemingly advances we are actually loosing more and more freedom of choice in gameplay. the "interactive movie" can NOT be the ultimate goal of gaming. still that´s what we´re heading at. these are bad times to be a gamer.
the popularity of some indie titles spreads hope however.
(on a personal note: looking for enthusiastic java coders)
