The movie got really bad reviews when it came out in 1969, but I think it's a forgotten classic with a once in a lifetime cast, plus Jose Feliciano's theme song just makes the movie for me. Saw it on television back in the early '70's when CBS used to run movies in prime time on Thursday nights.

I first read IT over 20 years ago, when King was in his prime; the group sex in the sewer is the only part I had a problem with. Don't bother with the movie, the special effects, especially the big spider, ruin it. By all means read Ghost Story, it's my favorite non-King horror novel.
