Spawn sounds eeriely familiar so I don't think it is as unheard of as you may think it is. I was a comic book fan, not so much anymore. I like the sense of originality so the issues after Kirby stopped illustrating for Marvel, i kind of lost interest in the rest. I do remember the old X-men series from the 90's though. I was totally obsessed with that series especially with he Phoenix Saga but they kept showing rereuns and I realized it didn't go for that many seasons.
