@Daschickenify does "hemishperical heads" ring a bell? the pistons were never hemispherical, the heads were. The reason it was designed that way was partly for combustion, but more for better breathing and more valve oppening space

@pollepost I think I heard someone else say that it actually uses all the cylinders, it just doesn't ignite on every other stroke? so then it compresses, but doesn't combust. That's what I understood, could be wrong.
