@jnpiel well, I'd be willing to bet he didn't mean to come off as disrespectful of soldiers. I've watched many of his videos. He seems to me to be very patriotic, and very pro- US soldiers. According to his videos, he is in the armed forces. But, I could be mistaken.

@RebelSoldat1 perhaps some of that stuff did go on, but some joined to fight for their country. I am willing to bet that some even sympathized with that south's fight for the right to secede, but there home state was on the side of the Union, and they couldn't fight against their own state.
