At the Pentagon:
The FDR and CVR (black boxes) were found together at the enterance hole by Burkhammer and Moravitz, under some debris, including a seat from the cockpit, identified by NTSB.

But it didn't make sense to find them here, they should be further in the building. And under a seat from the cockpit?
The CVR was given to Cushman, who downloaded the data, but FBI seized it before analysis could begin.

Then the story changed. The FDR was found at the c-ring hole by Kilsheimer. Kilsheimer claims to have found it by stepping on it. This is where it was expected to be found, but no NTSB to verify this find.

On that day, the 14th, NTSB identified the boxes found by Burkhammer. Pentagon spokesman DIck Bridges announced the boxes were found at the enterance hole. Slight damage to the CVR, but they were confident data would be recovered.

Cushman downloaded this data, then was gag ordered not to talk about what she'd gleaned.
Now the story is the CVR was too damaged.
This model of black box has never failed. The damage to the corner of the CVR was slight. Cushman downloaded the data from the box.

But the picture of the CVR at the Moussaui trial shows the CVR totally destoryed, the tape burned and mangled. This could not be the same CVR Cushman downloaded data from.

Only one FDR on a plane, so why were 2 found at the Pentagon? Why does the ASCE report have it found at the C-ring?

A new investigation is needed.
