About Me:
Rich began singing and playing rhythm guitar in the band God's Green Earth in 1992. Rich grew up in a bland but safe suburb of Chicago and his personal life was rather unpredictable so being in a rock band was a great way to express his frustration. After 5 years of focusing his time & energy on writing, recording and performing original songs with God's Green Earth he began to experience creative differences with his band mates and left in 1997 to pursue a solo career. Rich released "Elysium" under the alias Spill in 1999 and "Waiting for the Tide" in 2002 under his Christian name, Richard Neal Miller.
In December, 2007, Rich met bassist Jeff Harrison and then found drummer Lucas Frantom in May, 2008. With a live lineup in place, Waiflike began performing at venues in Chicago including Underground Lounge, Silvie's Lounge and Martyrs.
In February, 2009 Jeff Harrison left Waiflike to pursue other opportunities which led to the addition of Rick Arrow (bassist) and Mark Vee (keyboardist/2nd guitarist). Rick was the bassist/tiple/mandolin player for Revelator prior to joining Waiflike and Mark is an excellent multi-instrumentalist/singer/s
In 2009, Waiflike Mach II (Rich, Lucas, Rick & Mark) recorded 4 new songs that Rich wrote: "Being Apes", "Dime Store Daisy", "Go-getters & Gold Diggers" & "Sober Now". In November of 2009, Mark Vee parted ways with Waiflike. After Mark left the band, Rich dissolved the band for a few months. However, the 4 songs that the band recorded in 2009 were mixed & mastered in the winter of 2010 by Andy Lagis. Rich posted the songs online in April of 2010 and received many encouraging reactions to the new material. He hopes to eventually release a full length CD containing these songs (tentatively titled "The Death of Nostalgia/Candy & Arsenic").
In the Spring of 2010, Rich & Lucas agreed that the band should reform, at least temporarily. In June, 2010, Rod Homor auditioned and was asked to join Waiflike as the new bassist. Rod played a handful of shows with Rich & Lucas and also offered to take over the booking responsibilities, artwork and website development for the band. In the summer of 2010, Waiflike debuted a new song called "Puppets & Kings" that Rich wrote which was inspired by watching Hollywood crime dramas. On October 11th, 2010, after 3 shows with the new lineup, Rod decided to leave the band. Tired of dealing with a revolving door of bassists, Rich decided to put the band on hold.
In January, 2011, David Bash (founder of the International Pop Overthrow Festival) asked Rich if Waiflike would like to play a show in Chicago in the spring of 2011. This proposition motivated Rich to once again resurrect the band. Waiflike will play on Saturday, April 23rd at The Abbey Pub in Chicago. Lennie Dietsch (Verbow, The Ladies & Gentlemen) will play bass and Waiflike will open for the recently reunited Material Issue at this show.

Thanks! Glad you like my Jellyfish cover. It sounds like you could be very influenced by them. Your music sounds great. But of a Bowie influence too, maybe, and Beatles, and powerpop. Maybe Zep too. Anyway - wherever it comes from, it's good.
