my 2011 silverado was doing the same thing, it would tick after sitting at idle for 5 mins. ended up being the oil pump.

I've got a 2011 silverado 2500 with 400 miles on it doing the exact same thing. I hope your right about it being normal. it apparently doesnt change if u use a different grade gas either.
