Crossing over the Rock, Blues and Country Markets is an intense balancing act that VanVechten Smith excels at. Think of Stevie Ray Vaughn meeting Steve Vai in a restaurant for a dish of Santana sprinkled over the Eagles with a fillet of ZZ Top wrapped in a Lynard Skynard casserole and topped off with a healthy portion of Soul. Add layers of dynamics, sing along hooks, big grooves and relatable lyrics and you've got yourself a meal.

VanVechten Smith got his first guitar at the age of three. He was in the studio and touring by sixteen years of age; owning his own recording studio by twenty-one. While touring multiple countries he has opened shows for many "Major Label" acts and headlined shows in hundreds of venues of all shapes and sizes.

Lending his unique style of playing, VanVechten's skillful guitar techniques and strong song writing capabilities have added style, power and a tasteful flavor to multiple bands, with numerous original songs and recordings, including 5 full length CD's and countless EP's. Signing a worldwide recording contract with RMG, as well as a European licensing deal with NOISE RECORDS, brought a successful European tour as well as MTV, radio, and considerable magazine coverage.

Finally "going solo" on his last album, "BoneShovel", brought VanVechten's distinctive and powerful vocal style to the forefront while adding the melodic and catchy groove that has become so characteristic in his music today.

While Writing, Producing and Performing Original material in concert settings, VanVechten is also getting "back to the roots" of his passion by performing Acoustic, as well as Full Band Classic Rock shows in clubs of various sizes
