I have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes while watching this - and not ashamed of it. I learned to play guitar to this at 14. This is as close to Music Heaven as we humans can come I think. And imagine - people in the US were fooled into burning Beatles records a couple of years later ...

Nice rendition ... BUT why the DISTORTED guitars? That´s a big NO-NO in these early Beatles numbers. Seems to me that todays electric guitarists are so indoctrinated that they equal Electrid guitar with Distorsion, often of the ugliest kind: Wasp in a Tin Jar. Keep it clean!

Having listened closely to the "burping" sound again and again now - it´s most probably made by scratching along one of the low piano strings with some hard object.

My guess is that the "culprit" is the Joker John Halsey ...

I´m impressed by the technical quality - BUT, the idea is very questionable baring in mind the many photojournalists that have been shot and killed "for real" in their line of work.

The Clapton phenomenon really took off with the Bluesbreakers 1966 album where EC created THE rock guitar sound. His Les Paul straight into a Marshall 60W 2x12 at full blast. No pedals, just fullbodied volume with natural controlled feedback if needed. And wonderful blues licks, varied in timing ...

Thanx Colin! That put me out of my misery - I think ... So all the rave about the AJ beeing "Gibson´s canon" and soundwise far superior to the J45 - is mostly hyperbole? Also: Can You sort of "hear" the rosewood back and sides in the AJ as well as the mahogany in the J45?

Beeing a Swede myself and with time also a "reluctant" ABBA-admirer, (especially of this song) this has now come full circle through Andy Rehfeldts genius and Britt Savages dead-ringer-vocals. Absolutely Great!

I saw GG live twice in the 70:s and I´ve listened to "It´s only Goodbye" hundreds of times and I don´´t think this is a rip off at all. The GG-theme is more complex compared to Kravitz theme. EJ is of course a Great guitarist - BUT his "signature sound" always makes me want to clear my throat. It sounds as if his speakers have been sliced with a razor.
