About this user
In January 2004 a group of young enthusiasts gathered by the idea of voluntarism has recognised a need for forming a volunteers' centre as a possible solution of numerous problems of our community and society in general.
Not long after that we formed VCV. During its first year of work VCV was an informal group working on organisation of international workcamps and placing volunteers from Vojvodina on camps around the world. As the time passed number of active volunteers and activities grew larger and idea developed further.
Finally, in november 2005 VCV was formally registered as an NGO.
With organisational development the range of activities widened. Up to today we organised more than 30 international workcamps in Serbia, organised and participated in numerous international youth exchanges, seminars, trainings, conferences and initiatives, educational programmes, humanitarian activities, started a local voluntary service in Novi Sad, supported organisation of different festivals and events.
In our activities we involved for now more than 1000 volunteers from Vojvodina and 500 International volunteers.
We cooperate with numerous organisations from Serbia and from around the World. In the end of 2006. we were recognised by international peace network Service Civil International (SCI) which coordinates volunteer exchanges in more than 40 countries and with partners from around the World. One of the recognised groups of SCI is VCV.
