I can't think of a better songwriter than Nick Lowe. And what a performer -- even just standing there with an acoustic guitar.

Great song. I knew a guy in college who was in a band called The Trouble Boys, I guess named after this song. TL shows excellent taste in doing this, but I much prefer the sloppy Rockpile version.

These guys are pure genius. So entertaining -- much better than the original.

Fantastic song, and the video also grows on you. The scene following the girl down the hill is exquisite, as are the shots of hands on the piano (particularly that chord just as the train pulls in) and Joe playing and singing. Bravo!

Great song, the only live version of it by Sergio Mendes that I have found. So cool to hear the singing in Portuguese. It's also pretty funny when Sergio opens his mouth to sing and all you hear are the girls' voices.

I presume JT desired to cover this song because it is so drop-dead beautiful, and he is a top-level artist who can sing what he wants so I guess he decided to give it a try. Oddly, this to me was not instantly recognizable as James Taylor -- maybe his voice is changing or I'm just not hearing it...

Extraordinary arrangement, beautifully performed. Singer's lightly accented English adds an element of mystery. My only criticism is that it's too short -- they cut off some of the later verses. But this is the best of the many "classical" versions of this song that I have seen. Bravo!

I have recently been listening to lots of covers of this magical song. I think the classical string covers really identify something special. This is not the best arrangement or performance, however.

I think she actually gets closer to the heart of it than the original, if that is possible. This lady has great taste and a wonderful imagination -- see her covers of Led Zeppelin, Cat Stevens and Neil Young.
