thanks for the compliments on the horses! Gold just now has colts on the ground, so nothing started under saddle to know what type of mares are best. AS for what type of mares to start with, probably best to go with real racky or trotty mares. Some pacey mares cross good, but sometimes you end up with more pace too. The pacey mares tend to put more speed on the offspring though. I'm sure different people will have different opinions on that. We ride Tennessean saddles, sold by National Bridle Shop in TN. The saddles are made by Crates and are on a gaited horse tree made by Steele. Very comfortable saddles.

I really like your horses, I would love to have a couple of colts out of gold but just have not decided on what mares would be best to breed to him to get his looks, color and speed, I would like to get colts that look just like him. Any suggestions? I also like soulcrusher very well nice horse. I have had speedracking and pacing horses all my life but I am just now getting into singlefooting horses and the whole singlefooting scene, any advice on what kid of mares to start out with would be a big help.
