That is why throughout all your dive training they hammer in to your head, DON"T MESS WITH THE WILDLIFE!!! When in the water, If it has more teeth than you, or is bigger than you, leave it the hell alone. Even if the elephant seal was just trying to play, its so large it could easily hurt you.

@somepinkmartini -Why don't you go TROLL somewhere else. It is the biggest rule, but as long as its not an excessive hold and your depth doesn't change, you'll be fine. Most speargun hunters and underwater photographers hold their breath at some point during a dive. Im not saying its ok to do it...
