I had been part of a large (Anglican church) family, but I didn't have a "father figure" in my life. I didn't know of a personal Saviour or have a personal relationship. No-one had ever introduced Him to me. I didn't know anyone in my church who knew Him personally either.
I lacked spiritual growth. I thought being Born Again was a new innovation and I didn't know what I had to be saved from. Many of my Christian friends (I've since witnessed to them) still believe that we're all going to be in the Body of Christ, whatever religion. Some of them don't believe in Hell, the Virgin Birth, the Resurrection or even believe the Bible to be the Truth.
Like James, at one point I too had a 'career' in music and then went onto becoming a successful (local) author and public speaker, but I realised something (I now know Someone) was lacking in my life and I was searching, but didn't know what (I now know Who.)
I sadly see the world's awash with so much man-made theology. Man and his message will be responsible for sending millions to Hell. To follow God's path with its directions are so plainly set out in Scripture (Prov. 1:24) and yet we have confusion with false doctrine, false religions, with all gods welcomed and worshipped. The Church has thrown out the Truth and embraced excessive liberalism, pleasing its 'audience' with a social Gospel. The secular society are not duped. They know why the emptying of church pews persists.
Do you care for lost souls? You don't have to be an out and out sales person.
Equipped with various tracts, Lizzie (my friendly Yorkshire terrier) and I hit the coastal towns, especially the seafront promenades.
