Under the tradename VIVA FILMS -- Spurred by the tremendous success and nationwide appeal of his young music talent (Sharon Cuneta), Mr. Vicente del Rosario, Jr. (Viva's Chairman of the Board and CEO) hit on a brilliant idea - why not translate her albums' success into the big screen (movies). So in 1981 Viva Films was born and the rest is history.
Viva Films (VPI's film label) introduced the sleek, glossy, well-made melodramas or the "Viva Look" to the Philippine cinema.
