Viva rapid transit service began on Sunday, August 18 on the centre median, or rapidway, along Highway 7 in Richmond Hill from Bayview Avenue to Highway 404. An additional 3.9 kilometres of rapidway along Highway 7 from Highway 404 to Warden Avenue will open in 2014.
Markham and Richmond Hill are becoming key destinations within York Region. The Highway 7 East rapidways that travel through both of these municipalities will connect to the Richmond Hill Centre, a new mixed-use urban centre featuring businesses, homes, shops, restaurants, a 10-acre park, a theatre -- and you.
Charming town where history and vitality mix.
An exciting new viva rapidway along Davis Drive will change the way we experience our community. Upon completion, the rapidway will immediately make it easier for staff, patients, visitors and volunteers of the Southlake Regional Health Centre to get to the hospital. Over time, Davis Drive will become an attractive urban destination to work, dine, relax, live and shop.
The planned Yonge subway extension will extend 6.8 kilometres north from Finch Station to the Richmond Hill/Langstaff Urban Growth Centre at Highway 7. It will include up to six stations.
This centre will be a major transit hub where transit riders will be able to make seamless and convenient connections to viva and many other transit systems.
