Virtigo is an Industrial / EBM project that was manufactured in Toronto. The band started in 2003 with the name Vertigo. The sound was a mix of elements from bands ranging from Frontline Assembly to Hanzel Und Gretyl. The first official material by Vertigo was a remix of a Prospero song (Insomnia) on the album "Spreading The Infection". At That time, Vertigo was a one-man project, Melek. Early in the year of 2004, Melek met with Shaitan and the idea of constructing an industrial band topped with guitars and harsh vocals came along. They released a self-titled demo under the name Vertigo. However, due to a conflict with the name already been taken, they decided to change the name into Virtigo. The band continued as a two-piece band with Shaitan and Melek writing all of the music and lyrics for the project. When the time came to do live shows, Virtigo asked Prospero to do the keyboards and percussions. Virtigo independently released an album entitled Systematic Suicide in late 2005. After a few local shows, and due to a conflict in scheduling, Overman replaced Prospero. Recently, Virtigo decided to add another member to the line up and Neohuman is responsible for the bass guitar. Today, Virtigo continues to progress musically as synth elements of Velvet Acid Christ and Wumpscut have found their way into the mix. Virtigo's live shows consist of chaos reigning atmosphere and have become an experience that will never be forgotten.
