Video Archeology artifacts are largely forgotten ephemera, lovingly discovered, documented, digitized and distributed by the Video Archeology staff of volunteers.

We encourage the dissection of culture through media criticism via the study of recovered transitory audiovisual fragments not intended for conservation, that have been intentionally recorded for future consumption.

The stated purpose of such study is to provide a contemporaneous contextualization of the epoch in which the media was produced and preserved, and a disciplined documenting of a work's inspirations drawn from earlier material and its influences on the future of adjacent genres.
