@proaudiohd Actually, having attended a real launch, I can tell you - my EARS were clipping, and I was much farther away from the pad. XD This is pretty damn close to the real thing - that stuttering, choppy sound is actually the way the SRBs burn - NOT clipping.

@theArquebusier Orbital has currently the only operational air-launch space launch vehicle. The Pegasus and Pegasus XL combined have one of the best, if not the best, records of any current launch vehicle.

@taofledermaus I was sitting in Orbital's Dulles complex when this launched - my father was in the MOCC - and this is all we saw either. The feed from Vandenberg flipped to this almost immediately after the Taurus left the pad.

OCO did fail the same way, but that was due to a bad gas generator in the fairing. Glory, I'm really not sure, but I know that they'd replaced the hot gas generator with a cold actuator. So it probably wasn't the exact same problem.
