Sam was instrumental in the choice I made as a young child to sing "classic soul". Sam is a genius who will always be remembered for his unique style of singing and writing and entertaining. I enjoy honoring Sam's name and I'm thankful for being Vel Omarr. His music moves me and takes me to places I've never been. I admire many things about Sam and will always remember he never elevated himself above God and often taught vocalists their own potential. This will always be a historical and tragic date. My prayers go out to the Cook family as they remember Sam too. Peace and blessings!!
