@DragonFlyback256 During highway driving you have wind and rolling resistance. I see no problem with cutting over half the drag off these current 'bricks' of trucks.

@leekrejci high performance ebike tech is fairly new and still being developed. Bicycles aren't designed for a 4000watt motor. Maybe there are competitors to Stealth, but they aren't making themselves as well known, which is all that matters as far as competition.

The cyclists probably didn't like sharing the track with a motorbike...

@hojak88 The only difference between this cyclist and motorcyclist is that this guy was moving on human power. Their speed would have been the same in this situation. The car obviously acted like most drivers and didn't look carefully before planting their 2000lb object in a roadway.

Forget pedaling, you'll gain a lot more speed by aero tucking like road cyclist on a downhill.

Bicycles have MANY purposes, not just for exercise. Who ever told you a bike was just for exercise? My ebike is incredibly fun and makes much more sense than a car in the city. And no sweat and goes faster than a normal bike.

It's probably safer than obeying the law and riding like normal, considering how narrow the lanes are and how many trucks are flying by. Unless he could keep pace with the traffic.

But the bottom line is a nice ebike is just simply a ton of fun to ride. A 300lb motorcycle - that's nothing like riding a 60lb 1000 watt ebike, which easily matches and beats city traffic commute times. Bike parking is a lot easier than motorcycle parking in many cities too.

Powering your own movement, especially at fast speeds is the greatest feeling the world. It is so human, so natural, it's indescribable how amazing it is. It's too bad that most of the population will never get to feel that. Being pushed by an engine, is soul-less in comparison.

I'll take the lane when I'm going near the speed of traffic. It looks like your at about half the speed of moving traffic - not safe IMO. Other than that, I support the ebike for commuting.
