Have you ever considered the possibility that the artists and composers responsible for the tunes we are all guilty of uploading, may be just as angry with us, as you are with me; for posting their music without permission, and for not paying them royalties everytime their tune is played or downloaded!

They probably don't voice any protests because they know it won't do any good; people would rather get the music free than pay for it. They also probably have too much dignity to rant and rave about it on the internet.

I really do feel that it is only those who were responsible for making the tune that have the right to complain--if any of those people asked me to take their music down I would do it immediately.

I was using my Youtube pages to introduce artists, from around the world that I network with, to Northern Soul and to British humour; reaching people who would otherwise never come to know either. I'm not interested in bringing traffic to these pages, which is obvious from the small number of plays each video has received. All i want to do is reach a new audience with, what is in my opinion, the best music on the planet; Northern Soul.

To keep the Northern Soul scene alive for another forty odd years, we need to reach a new, and younger, audience; being selfish with the music means the scene will die when all those currently in their 50's or 60's kick the bucket. I don't want to steal anyone's thunder; it would be an embarrassment to be credited with the videos. I care only about the music, and I worship the artists, composers, producers, who are responsible for the it.

I was making videos for Northern tracks almost twenty years ago, and got slated by people on the soul scene for doing it; I was told I was betraying the Soul Scene by making the videos

Now almost twenty years on everyone is doing it, without having to deal with accustaions of betrayal. Over the past week I've uploaded a dozen of the videos I made way back, and I will be uploading a lot more, so eventually all the videos that are on my pages will have been made by me, so the videos I didn't make are only up temporarily, and I'm not looking for traffic; I only want to reach fellow artists, who are also my friends, with the music; primarily Northern Soul, and to give them a taste of the sort of British Humour that never reaches their shores.

The music means everything to me; it is far more important than the video images people are attaching to it. I was making videos (admittedly fairly basic ones using two video recorders to edit bits of film together before adding the audion track) almost twenty years ago, so I'm not stealing anyones thunder--I received so much abuse back then for making those videos, and now again I am receiving abuse for tryong to introduce the music to an audience most of you would never reach.

The comments below have been made by people who are too ignorant to understand what violation of copyright is, or they simply think that their rights are far more important than those of the artist or composer. As for their videos, I am only interested in the music, and I certainly wouldn't want to take credit for what is pretty basic stuff..

I haven't removed these comments, because I want Youtube to examine them. All of those below are violating copyright owned by artists/composers/record companies. They don't own copyright for anything they upload, whereas I do on several of the items I've uploaded. They consider their own rights, even though they don't own copyright, to be far more important than the rights of those people who made the music; condemning me is hypocrisy, because they don't practice what they preach.

If the owner of a tune asked me to take it down I would do it like a shot, because they have a right to make that demand.

If these people protested as much about the rights of the artist, composer, record label, producer, I would be impressed, but they don't, they only make a noise about what they think are their rights, but as don't own copyright for the music, and more often than not, the copyright on the images they use, they shouldn't be bellyaching. those people that created the music have the right to complain, but these people don't. It's ironic that the artists don't complain, but these people do!

If they had just asked me to credit them in the description fro each video, I would have done that, but irreversable defamation of character has eliminated that option; the abuse has been too extreme.

That should have been "from whom" shame on me!
