Launched on the 1st of May 2013 Acorn Meadows Park offered a unique experience to PlayStation ®Home. Now, in January 2014, we take a look at how it's evolved in the past nine months.
With its wide open grassy spaces, rolling green hills, leafy hedges, oak trees and a beautiful lake, Acorn Meadows Park offers the perfect place to relax, hang out with your friends and meet new people. Players can exercise their dog, mess around on the lake with a friend in a pedal boat, or take a bicycle ride for two. Take a ride around the Park on the miniature steam train and tour the park in style. Feeling hungry or thirsty after your exercise? Buy a steaming cup of Joe from the coffee kiosk or a hot dog or ice cream cone. For the dog lovers amongst you, spend your time with your favourite VEEMEE dogs in the Dog Park or take them for a run around the Park. If you don't have a dog yet don't worry; you can choose your new best friend from a massive selection.
There have been several great additions to Acorn Meadows Park throughout 2013 including The Remote Control Stand with RC Planes, RC Boats and RC Helicopters. With the addition of the Picnic Stall, players could now take their friends on a picnic while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Another great addition was the Skate Park, allowing you to show off your VEEMEE and Element skateboards in style. After adding the Pretzel and Cotton Candy Stalls it only seemed natural that you should be able to buy food and drink for your friends. The black swan and green dragon joined the white swan on the lake. And finally day passes allow you to enjoy unlimited uses of an activity for 24 hours.
Acorn Meadows Park has also has holiday themed spaces throughout the year to help the PlayStation ®Home community celebrate in style. These include the nighttime 4th of July space with fireworks display. The Halloween Space had a spooky Ferris wheel, a vampire-avoiding race task, candy canes, toffee apples, and an RC witch in the RC Stand. The Thanksgiving space included a Big Thanksgiving Dinner, pumpkin pie, turkey drumsticks, a turkey version of the lake's pedal boats, an RC Mayflower ship and bumper cars. Finally, in December, Winter Acorn Meadows Park space was launched. This included ice skating on the lake, a festive carousel, an RC Santa's sleigh, two person snowmobiles from the bike hut, hot chocolate, roast chestnuts, snowball fights and Santa's Grotto.
A lot's happened in the last nine months and we have a lot planned for the future. We love to hear your thoughts on Acorn Meadows Park and any ideas you have for future Park content.
