oh also wanted to ask about running synths directly into tvs monitors.....which ones work best? any tips?
also the control voltages you speak of are signal generators right? like the old school clunky ones? im a bit new to this so pardon my writing |

Thanks!
Depends on what you want to do - computer generated or analog. The VC stuff is all analog - the oldest stuff uses an oscilloscope. We created a bunch of control voltages and put them into the X,Y,Z of the scope then took the output of the scope and fed it back into the signal generators so that the audio and video are in some way related. The second set of work is done by taking signals and running them directly into monitors/tvs. The third set was done at the Experimental TV Center using similar methods but with equipment that allows for synching. Next month, we will redo the Voltage Controlled website and add much more details - hopefully that will be useful too. |

Cool vids and cool site!
Recently I've discovered voltage controlled audio, and since then I've fallen in love with it. I'm planning to buy and eventually build my own analog synthesizers. It's very interesting, and at the same time soo hard. cya! |
