1981 Dangerous Acquaintances album
Strum me hard, strum me fast, Fears sure built into every wall. Looking hard through the glass, Fears sure built in with every waltz.
Looking out at the rain Looking in through the storm. Treading the waves, Come in from harm. How could you regret your other words ... Hoping for thrills — free as a bird ...
Strum me hard, strum me fast, Fears sure built into every wall. Looking hard through the glass, Fears sure built in with every waltz.
There's a knock at the door, I get up — let you in. Travelled and stained, Soaked to the skin. Welcome my darling, you got here at last ... Come and sit by the fire — forget what's past.
So sad, so sad, So sad, so sad.
Strum me hard, strum me fast, Fears sure built into every wall. Looking hard through the glass, Fears sure built in with every waltz.
Looking out at the rain Looking in through the storm. Looking back, looking forward, Flying up, flying down — What have you found ?
So sad, so sad What have you found ? So sad, so sad What have you found ? So sad, so sad What have you found ? So sad, so sad.

Yeah it's about a kid who's teased and not as fortunate as the "other kids with the pumped up kicks." The part where it says dad's coming home with a surprise....yeeahh pretty sure the surprise isn't something pleasant. Guy's got a crappy life & jerk family so he's shootin'. I personally find it amazing that this is the general idea yet it sounds so happy. - @colourlover72 This songs about robbie hawkin who brought a gun to a mall and shot 9 people including himself after his parents neglecting furthermore kicking him out, his dad would beat him when he was little. wrote a note to family/friends, brought a revolver to the mall. "He'll look around the room" he went to the 3rd floor and shot randomly. "He wont tell you his plan" only told them in the note saying he will become famous and the cowboy stuff means he's having fun with the idea of how cool it will be. - @lanitana100 This song is not about Robert Hawkins of the Westroads Mall shooting in Omaha. Robert was long estranged from his parents and lived with friends. The people he chose to open fire on were mostly middle-aged people over 40's with only Maggie Web (24) remotely close to his age (19). Robert also wasn't a loner, which the cowboy characteristics refer to (six shooter, cigarette, etc). This song is about isolation and a kid losing it and Foster is recalling the killer's perspective. -@tangle2nite

Lyrics: When she was just a girl She expected the world But it flew away from her reach so She ran away in her sleep And dreamed of Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise Every time she closed her eyes
When she was just a girl She expected the world But it flew away from her reach And the bullets catch in her teeth Life goes on, it gets so heavy The wheel breaks the butterfly Every tear a waterfall In the night the stormy night she'll close her eyes In the night the stormy night away she'd fly And dreams of Para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh She'd dream of Para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh-oh
La-la-la-la-la-la-la La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la And so lying underneath those stormy skies She'd say, "oh, ohohohoh I know the sun must set to rise"
This could be Para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise This could be Para-para-paradise Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh This could be Para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise This could be Para-para-paradise Oh oh oh oh oh oh-oh-oh-oh When she was just a girl She expected the world But it flew away from her reach so She ran away in her sleep And dreamed of Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise Every time she closed her eyes
