Al graduated from BHS in 1947. We had a common acquaintance, "Professor" Vicedomini who was the director of instrumental music in the Bayonne public schools. One of the highlights of my young musical career was playing the clarinet in the Bayonne Music Festival in which public school bands and orchestras from all over the city participated. I remember Al's playing quite well. It was extraordinary. Frank Effenberger, Bayonne Tech class of 1949.

Thank you for posting all the Al Mattaliano Tunes. He was a great trumpet player.I had the pleasure of taking a trumpet lesson with him around 1964 and I remember how kind he was to me.I was a young trumpet player with the First Army Band at that time and was thrilled to be in the company of a former Kenton trumpet player.
